Week 52

As I wrap up my year long project I can't help but think of My Savior and all that he has given me.

Sometimes I don't feel like I deserve all that I have been blessed with, but that's the wonderful thing about Him - I know He loves me and He blesses me because of that.

As we move forward into the new year I hope that we all can look back with fond memories and enjoy making new ones!!!

Oh, what would our lives be like without computers? I remember when my family got out very first computer - it seems so ancient now, but it was soooo cool back then. And now technology is advancing every few months with newer computers, phones, cameras...well, just about everything! How can we all keep up? But I'm thankful for it so I can share my photography with all of you :)

I guess winter is here whether we like it or not - I have mixed feelings about it.

Especially when there are still fall leaves on the trees and it's snowing outside

Today when I went outside to take some pictures I wasn't intending on snapping any shots of sidewalk chalk-that's more of a summertime picture-but my son left them out on our porch and I thought, "Why not?". Summer picture or not, I think it works - it's the end of one season, start of another and we can always look forward to those warm summer days again!

Lips are a wonderful thing, aren't they?

There are so many uses for these things on our faces from nourishing our bodies,

to articulating our thoughts in words or song,

to show how we're feeling in facial expressions

and
to convey our love through a more physical nature.

In conclusion: Lips are great!

Camping with my fam has got to be the highlight of all my summers - I just love it.

Shattered, Broken, Cracked, Split, Destroyed, Fractured - I'm sure we've all felt like this at some point in our lives.

I know I have.

It's not the best feeling in the world, but I think from those experiences we can learn and grow.

Certainly our decisions on how we handle these hard situations make or break us.

I would hope through my life I've chosen to become stronger and appreciate all that I've gone through - because it's made me who I am today.

Ahh, summertime = shade time, and by shade I mean shades aka sunglasses.

I love sunglasses.

Not only do they keep the blaring sun rays out of my delicate pupils whilst:

Week 12

Week 12 is a little different than what I've been doing lately, but that's okay! This is a photo is from the Festival of Colors at the Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork - what a blast that was! I highly recommend it :) It's great fun getting to throw chalk on complete strangers and get a little messy! And isn't that what life's about - getting out there, experiencing new things, meeting new people and LIVING!!!

Week 8

This week has been an interesting one. I don't suppose I like the situation I'm in or want to ever be in it again, but it's made me look at my life in a different way. I think my Week #8 picture portrays this - just with an inanimate object. I've had this idea in my head for a while with doing something with light and glass and I fell in love with the shadow pattern this glass bottle cast. Moral of the picture - look at something in a new way and you may be surprised what you find!

Week 2
2nd week and 2nd photo in my project. I don't know any girl who doesn't just love shoes and guess what - I am one of those girls!!! I love shoes and I know I have way too many, but that doesn't ever stop me from getting a new pair of heels every now and again. So I took a "few" of my heels and contrasted them with my good 'ole Converse shoes in this shot and I really like how it turned out.

Week 1

I thought I'd start off my 52 Week Project with a picture of the Salt Lake Temple. To me the temple is not just a stunning architectural building with its many spires, windows, hand carved doors and intricate stonework, but it is a symbol of hope, love and happiness. And that is how I want to start out my 2001 year - with lots of hope, love and happiness for me, my family and all of you!!!

Have you ever been to Farmington Bay? Well, I went last Saturday for the first time and I guess February is the month to go becuase the eagles come for a visit. Only three were hanging around when I went, but that was enough for me. They are so magestic and beautiful birds. I got within at least 20 yards of one, but scared it off and it was amazing to see it fly! So here are just some shots of my day - enjoy :)

So I know I've been posting a lot of random posts and not people posts, but don't worry - they're coming. Just being out and about and going to different things and of course taking my camera creates the opportunity to snap some photos, which is always fun! So here are a few from the Antelope Island balloon launch.

Random:September Moon

The clouds cloaked heavily the darkened sky, concealing all light with their impenetrable shadows.
Those wandering in the night were lost, having no guidance from the stars, the moon.
They wandered aimlessly in the darkness, no origin, no destination, no resolution.
All hope was lost, concealed entirely within the turbid clouds.
And then, a single ray of light flickered from the moon through the dense coverage, illuminating just a fraction of the veiled sky.
That solitary ray grew in strength and power, its light exposing the clouds to their own weaknesses.
This light of the moon showed the earth the outline of the cloudy sky, showed how the facade of the clouds made it seem nearly impossible to penetrate through their thick surface.
But the moon knew differently.
The moon breathed in the darkness and sighed with the light, causing it to shine forth through all obscurity.
The moon's light prevailed over the murky sky, forcing its brightness to shine through to help those lost on their way.
The moon's light showed that the heavy burdening clouds were nothing when compared to the light's breathtaking glory.
The moon's light showed that there is always hope hidden behind the darkness of the night.
